During this online roundtable held on 8th December 2020, speakers from Europe and Japan illustrated what the Paris Agreement has changed for them and their organizations. They also explored together the path towards net zero emission in 2050, through the examples of public policies, business initiatives, youth engagement, science and international cooperation.

2020: Raising the ambition for climate | EU-Japan Webinar, October 2020 | Summary
In this webinar, the European Commission and the Ministry of the Environment of Japan introduced the latest developments in their ambitions and efforts for climate action. Two businesses, L’Oréal from Europe and Ricoh from Japan, illustrated how the Paris Agreement and the NDCs set by governments are key towards shifting business activities in sectors such as cosmetics and electronics.

The EU and Japan organized from June to October 2020 a “EU-Japan Webinar Series on COVID-19″. This series of 9 webinars were held to inform and exchange views about responses to COVID-19 as well as to provide ideas for enhancing EU-Japan cooperation. 3 of these 9 webinars were directly linked to climate issues and low-carbon recovery.
